The Forest is the Therapist, the Guide opens the door

Nature & Forest Therapy is inspired by the Japanese practice of Shinrin-Yoku.

Shinrin-Yoku is a therapy to help support the healing and wellness through immersion in forests and other natural environments.

ANFT Forest therapy is a pathway to health and wellbeing for both people and the more than human world

"You have to leave the city of your comfort and go into the wilderness of your intuition. What you will discover will be wonderful. What you will discover is yourself"

~ Alan Alda

Each Experience
  • Every experience is different

  • There is no right or wrong way to do this

  • Each session lasts either 2 hours or 3 hours

  • We will present you with a series of invitations

  • Each one is designed to deepen your connection

  • We share our experiences with each other

An Embodiment Experience

We spend so much of our lives on high alert, within our work, attached to technology and  alerts for one thing or another.

This experience is about getting out of your head and into your body.

It's about becoming alive in using all of our senses.

It's about returning back to nature and being a part of the more than human world.

Its about taking time to slow down

When you slow your body down, your movement down - your mind follows.

It is about stopping to look, to notice,  to observe, hearing each crackle of a twig or a leaf rustling in the breeze.

Hearing the birds and noticing when you are still for long enough how their behaviour changes towards you.

It is smelling and inhaling the natural aroma of the trees and plants, the phytoncides, that in these essential oils by themselves can offer us so much increase in wellbeing.

Maybe on the first visit or certainly after a period of time you will notice an increase in your focus and clarity of thinking.

When can you access this?

For 2021 we have a number of different options

We have just launched our series of in person wellbeing wanderings. We had the first at our special Owlet Woods with the permission of Woodland Trust. We have three more at this serene setting.

We have a series of remotely guided forest bathing sessions which started during lockdowns to bring nature to you. These have proven to be really popular and have been a real international gathering which would not be possible in person.  I am continuing these throughout 2021. A variety of walks from morning to evening.

We will also have a special one off remotely guided session from within the circle of Avebury Stones later this year.

We will be offering you a series of day retreats and wellbeing wanderings at Clumber Park in partnership with the National Trust.

We will also be bringing at least one nature bathing session on one of our local beaches.

Our next weekend nature and wellness retreat will be in 2022. These are so nurturing - a real not to be missed event for a deeper nature immersion and connection with the more than human world ( I include humans within this).
